Chill on the Drinking

Well... The last time I drank was on Sunday. And as I am not drinking today either, that's 4 days of being alcohol free. There are a few reasons why I am gonna stop drinking for a while. First of all, I've been pretty busy with work. I've got a job this weekend and next weekend as well. As some of you should know, I provide manpower to Hypermarkets when they conduct sampling in their outlets. Yeah... I might be still be pretty free on weekends as I do not have to clock in and out at any office, but I still do need to go around sourcing for promoters as well as plan all the schedule for the activities. I definitely don't mind working on weekends. In fact, it actually feels pretty good to be busy... running up and down... and at the end of the day getting things all done.

I am going to Pangkor Island Beach Resort this coming Monday and I need to sort everything out before I can go for my holidays. Conducting sampling also requires sampling items which I need to pass to the promoters prior to the sampling drive. This pretty much means I need to run around to pass the items to them one by one. The more locations I do, the more I need to travel. But like I said, no complains. If any of you need any promoters, do let me know. I'll give ya'll a discount. Hehehe...

The other reason I don't feel like going out at night is because of the TVB dramas which are showing at night. Last week, I went back to my hometown Teluk Intan to do some survey. Back in Teluk Intan, I do not have the luxury of having my own Astro Decoder in my room. So basically if I wanna stay at home, I gotta watch what my parents are watching. They are currently watching 2 dramas... one at 8.00pm till 9.00pm and the other from 9.30pm till 10.30pm. Since I got back to PJ, I have been watching the dramas daily. If for any reason I miss the 8pm show, I wait till 1am to catch the repeat broadcast. I can actually go to a DVD shop and buy the whole series, but this will cause 2 things to happen. I will stay awake every night till late (not that I sleep early anyway) and I will not leave my house at all till I finish the whole series. I once bought a DVD set of one of these TVB dramas. I ended up having instant noodles for every meal for 2 days, and I finished off the whole series in that duration.

The other reason for me not drinking is that I wanna try to spend less as my buddy and I should be starting our business within a month or two. If I don't stop spending now, I'll run out of capital even before we start the business. Staying at home these few days has been great. I barely spent any money. To be honest, if I don't drink at all, the most I can spend on food a week is like a 100 bucks. But of course this is if I have simple meals in kopitiams. A trip to 'Ribs' will set me back 30 bucks just for a main course.

I guess I gotta learn how to spend less. Life used to be easy for me years ago. My dad had a RM50 million turnover business. We were in the distribution business. With major brands like CP (Colgate-Palmolive), Dutch Lady, GAB (Guinness Anchor Berhad) and BAT (British American Tobacco), we were the biggest distributor in the Lower Perak region. Imagine walking around town... every packet of Dunhill, every bottle of Tiger Beer, and every packet of Dutch Lady drink anyone is holding was once sitting in your warehouse. We were the company nominated distributor for Lower Perak and we supplied to all Sundry Shops, Mini Markets, Supermarkets and Hypermarkets. Money was never an issue. I used to spend 600 bucks a month on my phone bill just to chat with my friends to kill time. I never felt the pinch when I paid for my phone bill every 2 months. While working for my dad, I travelled a lot. I just needed to tell me dad I wanted a month off, and I would fly to NZ to stay with my then girlfriend. But thanks to my asshole egoistic uncle (my father's cousin), the business has gone bust. How life has changed. I still spend a lot. I'm so used to spending money that I always spend without thinking of the consequences.

All I have now is my own place in Damansara Perdana. I am currently staying in my family home in Tropicana Indah. So this enables me to rent my own place out. I was thinking of selling my place to raise some funds for business. But my Teluk Intan buddies have talked me out of it. Teit Kwan and Teck Waey are absoulutely against me selling my crib. I do still have some $$$ for business. I don't have to sell my place to raise funds but I would prefer to have more liquidity just in case the business needs more cash injection. But I do agree, I tend to look at things on a short term basis. I know if I hang on to my property, it is impossible that my property will depreciate in value. With the lack of land for development in PJ, property prices are sure to go up. I think I'll listen to my friends and hold on to my crib.

Vince and the gang are planning to go to Nepal for a holiday. I do feel like going as I know that we always have a brilliant time when we hangout together. Vince and Joe are really gungho about going for this trip. But I guess I have to grow up sooner or later. I have never been able to prioritize and my choice has always been the one which ensures that I have fun. As I know Vince will be reading this, "Dawg.. Ma bad.. But I think I'm gonna have to pass". I wanna devote my time and money to starting the business. I know you guys will be disappointed, but I'm sure you'll be happy that I am thinking and weighing options before making any decisions. I'm sure you don't want to hangout with a 32 year old kid forever.

So I guess I am not gonna be blogging much for the next few months. I do not have many readers, but I do feel obligated to update my blog so that you guys do have something to read when you do visit. I guess this is the reason I am so long-winded. So... do visit less. Thanks for being a follower. I have had fun blogging... knowing that I have a great audience coming in daily for more. I'll still have some updates, but I guess they'll be kinda rare. Take care guys... Cheers...

Fun Filled Weekend

Suprisingly, no one called on Friday for drinks. So I caught a movie with Danny and Rose. We watched Carriers. People... don't watch this show. First of all it sucks. The storyline damn kau crap. In total, the were only 15 people in the total cast. And the biggest reason not to watch the show is... THEY ARE FUCKING RACIST. The show is basically about a disease sweeping the nation which basically has no cure. There is this one part of the show where they hang a guy and on him is a sign. Written on the sign is 'The Chinks brought it'. Racist Mutha fucka!!! Damn tulan.

Anyways... Wake up on Saturday morning late as I watched the late show the night before. Sam and Terence were up for snooker. So I made my way to Bali at around 2. We played till about 10pm. We then went to Rockmount for a few beers. The happy hour price is pretty okay lar. 36 bucks a jug. But it is a small jug lar. Which means it's just 3 mugs and not the usual 4. Prices after HH is 60 bucks. Pretty ex lar. But we didn't drink much. Just 6 jugs. We played some pool and sang karaoke as well. I got home at 2am. I was pretty knackered.

I get up on Sunday at 11. I drove to Ampang Point to source for some promoters which I need for an up coming sampling drive. After I finish my work, I meet up with Julian, Vince & Joe at Sungai Wang. I parked at Imbi as the Sg. Wang parking was already full. We walked around aimlessly for an hour plus. We then walk to Pavillion as we wanted to watch Avatar. Jules & Vince have not seen the show yet. I have watched it once. And Joe had already watched it twice. But we don't mind watching the 3-D version. But when we got there, there was a long line. I asked Rose to help me buy the tickets online. But she checked and the only available seats was the front row ones. The rest of the guys were okay with it. But I didn't want to have a stiff neck from watching a show so I membantah straight. Since we were not gonna catch a movie, we decided to grab a beer instead.

We walked opposite the road to where Wisma Cosway is. There is a bar there called Tulips which Vince told us serves affordable beer. We risked our lives and crossed the busy street just to find the pub closed. Sigh... So we decided to drink in Changkat instead and hailed a cab. When we first got in, the cab driver thought we were from Singapore or sumtin. Coz no Malaysians would waste cab money and usually just drive their own asses to the pub and drive home from there. We chat with the taxi guy a bit as he drove us to Changkat. We went to Ceylon Bar for our beer. Debs arrives a few minutes after us. Joe, Debs and I start our drinking session with a pint of Guinness Draft. Vince and Jules grab a jug of beer. We also order some nachos which are excellent.

We played Jenga to kill time and I think only Vince and I managed to remove the blocks without the whole thing thumbling down. What to do... gifted mar. We were also talking about how I like big teeth and how I think Miley Cyrus actually looks cute. It might seem kinda wrong that I think she's cute but you gotta love her teeth. Hehe. Btw... I have an obsession with Vampish looking teeth. A mouth full of teeth just looks.... nice. Anyways... obviously, we were talking about Miley Cyrus and waited for her music video to come on as they had the MTV channel on. We were there for a few hours and they did not show her latest MTV even once. Everytime a song finished, we looked at the screen wondering if they'll play 'Party in the USA' next. After hours of waiting, they finally did. Drunkish is shouted out loud 'YEAH!!!', grinning and feeling really pleased. I also told them about the part where Miley stomps her foot on the ground and you can see her leg muscles ripple. When Vince saw it with his own eyes, he laughed non stop and had a stomach cramp. Good times.. Good times...

At 8 plus, Joe had a brilliant idea. He suggested we go skating. When we were in Sg. Wang, we saw a skating ring at the top floor. Drunk us agreed to go. I drove Debra's car as 4 guys and 1 big gal cramped in. Parked her car in Sg. Wang and made our way up. It was actually rollerblades and not rollerskates. It didn't matter to us as we were pretty gungho about playing. Jules didn't want to though cause he doesn't know how to. The last time we played was like 10 or 15 yrs ago. I have only rollerbladed once years ago when I went to Johor and all my mates were still in Uni. But I have tried ice skating before and I didn't fall then. So I was sure I'd do just fine. I can't say the same for Debra though. She was falling all over the place. Even with the 3 of us guiding her, I don't think she managed to go one full circle. Vince, Joe and I can't do any stunts but at least we didn't suck like Debra. She made us look like profesionals. Thanks Debs.

At 10 plus, we left the ring. We were all tired. Our legs hurt. But not as much as our arms. We were more tired from picking Debra off the ground. And she is not what you call... light. Hehehe. So we go to Pudu to grab our dinner/ supper. Fei Kai was not open yet as he only opens at 11.30. So we go to the 'Lou Shue Funn' place instead. I order quite a bit of food. A claypot 'Lou Shue Funn', a pork belly Beehun, a fried 'Siew Yoke', a Kungpow mantis prawn, and 10 pieces of 'Yong Tau Foo'. We stuffed ourselves with the food I ordered. The bill came up to RM100. Ex lar... but it was expected. After 'Dinper' (dinner/ supper) we make our way back home. I got back at 11 ish, took a bath, and crashed out. A tired but entertaining day.

The Rockmount deco. When presents don't arrive during Christmas I guess we all know where to find Rudolph.

Sammi playing British pool.

Terence in action. He's pretty good lar. But I'm better. Hehe...

Cheers my Melaka friend.

Cue in right hand, mic in left hand. I was multi-tasking that night.

Tulips... the pub which Vince wanted to take us to.

Only problem was it was closed.

The guys stand around wondering where to go next.

We end up in Ceylon Bar for drinkies.

Joe with the vibrator he bought which he claims is for his ass.

The killer Nachos. Jules can't wait to dig in.

Queen Debla & Jiggly Joe.

Cheers. We love our beer.

The Queen & King of drinking.

Debs does not even have to look.

Vince with his steady hands manages to keep the structure up.

I think he failed twice.

Pretty high liau. Not sure if this was the pull that brought the structure down.

Walking into the rollerblading ring.

They are watching. Don't do drugs. And do not use vulgar language. I guess they have a lip reader.

This pic a bit x rated lar. Gals & gay guys can catch a glimpse of Joe's butt crack.

The railing is Debra's best friend.

Joe is a pretty good.

Debra needs assistance.

And more assistance.

Wah.. she manages to stand on her own.

Joe celebrates with a dance.

Aiya... spoke too soon.

We assist her to the railing.

We were pretty much the last customers of the day.

Everyone chatting instead of skating. Debs having trouble standing. Wanna sit on the railing also not tall enough.

Yes she is on her knees... No she is not proposing... Yes she fell again...

My fucking parking in Imbi cost me 24 bucks. What the fuck!!!

Our dinper. And as usual, I take a photo as we're about to finish it.

New Year Resolution

We've all agreed. We all need a change in lifestyle. As all you should know by now, my life, and my friends lives are revolved around drinking. The amount we spend on drinking on a weekly basis is crazy. Our new year resolution, drink less. I know it's hard to believe but we are sorta determined to change.

Anyways... Chirstmas eve was nuts. From my previous entry, you would know that we were all pretty wasted (especially Vince). That was of course a Thursday night. Some of the gang had a break on Friday and some didn't. We were going to hangout on Saturday. Initially, the Dons had planned to have a nice dinner somewhere in KL. I wanted to makan with them as well, but my friend May is here from Penang. She came along with her 2 friends.... one from Penang and one from China. Yeah... China... and no.. she is not a prostitute, nor is she a masseur. She is just a friend of May's from when they were studying back in UK. Initially, we were all suppose to have dinner together. Mana tahu, last minute, she canceled on me. They were just up for clubbing. Since Debs called me earlier asking me to go to her place for dinner (yeah... she actually cooked), I decided to pop by her place instead. I pick Su Lee up and we make our way to Debra's crib.

Su Lee and I bought some alcohol and took it up to Debra's place. I should have taken a pic of the food she cooked. She made some pasta. I must say, the dinner was actually really good. We were truly impressed with Debra's cooking abilities. The pasta wasn't very cooked though (my fault.. I checked and told her.... Can liau lar. Cooked liau). Despite the raw-ish pasta, Terence had seconds. We had a few cans of beer. They did not want to go clubbing at Zouk. So when it was 10.30, I made my way to KL to pick the 3 gals up. I arrived early as usual. at 10.45 to be precise. So I call May and tell her that I am downstairs. She tells me to give them 15 mins as they are getting ready. I sit my ass in the car and wait. 2 of them eventually come down.... at 11.20. 35 mins of waiting, still okay lar. But the China chick is not ready yet. We we are forced to wait. She eventually comes down at 11.40. So basically... I waited close to an hour.

The Dons had agreed to meet at Zouk. I initially told them I would be early and I will try to get a place in Phuture. Mana tahu, I ended up being the last to arrive. Phuture was already packed to the max. Even Velvet was absoultely packed. The gang ended up sitting at the small bar in Velvet. It was kinda crammed and I hate drinking like this. People walking pass you, pushing their way through. I sulked with every nudge and didn't drink much. At the end of the night, We consumed about 3 bottles and a few shots. I was bloody sober and pretty eager to leave. I drop the gals back at the hotel and scurried home. There was a road block. Lucky for me, I was sober and the police waved me through. Got home at 4, sober and bored.

Fast forward about a week, it was the 3oth and Jules and I planned to catch a movie. Wednesdays are crazy as people try to save a few bucks and line up like mad just to get a ticket. When I saw the line, I called Jules and told him to screw the movie and just grab lunch. He suggested we watch the movie at TGV instead. We made our way there, but the movie we wanted to watch was only on at 5.30. So confirm lar... no movie for the day. So after lunch, Jules and I gatal-gatal wanted to go drink. Hwe was free as well. So we all agreed to drink at Library. Jules and I got there at 2.00 and drank Hoegaarden. Hwe arrived pretty late and Chuen dropped by as well. By 6.30, I had consumed 6 pints.

Since no one wanted to have dinner with me, I bought some BKT outside my house and had it at home. I then went to my room, took a 30 minute nap and then showered. At this point of time, I had a slight headache. I was suppose to drink with Tissa and Vince in some pub. I was having second thoughts about going out. But Tissa then sms'ed me and told me he would fetch my ass. So I agreed. Didn't have a lot at the pub. It was kinda boring. After 2 buckets of beer, we left. Tissa and I then went to shot some pool at Wine @ Nine. Victor and Jules joined us a bit later. I had 3 more pints of Guinness. The result of the pool games? Teluk Intan kicked PJ ass. Hell yeah...

New Year liau. 1st of January 2010. I meet up with the Dons in Uptown for dinner. We sit and chat. We were talking about our drinking style. Our drinking is pretty lateral most of the night. What happens is that we drink... and drink.. and drink... and all of a sudden, the is a major shift in our drinking style. There is a point where the drinking just goes 90 degrees straight up. Everyone just starts ordering and pouring drinks. We all start drinking like mad and we end up not knowing how much we have had.

As we were sitting in Papa Rich Kopitiam, we agreed that we should know when to say stop. We also agreed to drink less. Maybe cut down to once a week. With all future drinking habits agreed, we made our way to Gashaus to celebrate the new year. Should we open 2 bottles? No lar... lets have beer. Slow night lar. We end up drinking 17 jugs (15 we pay, 2 on the house) as well as some shots. Bugger... drink beer also can end up RM700+. We should have just opened 2 bottles of single malt Whisky for 500+. Oh well... it was a really good night in the end. Although I woke up the next day with a hangover and feeling absolutely shitty...

The Dons in Velvet.

The 3 gals. I'm not drunk. Just tired.

Angry faced Jules and Cinz.

She was damn bored. So Jules and I took turns to layan her.

Vince acting cute. But quite funny also ar.

Mr. & Mrs. Teh joined us for this round of drinking.

The buy 1 free 1 Hoegaarden at Library.

Chuen & Hwe listening to Jules. They don't look amused. In fact Chuen looks like he's gonna beat Julian up.

And this pic it looks like he's ignoring him pulak.

Gashaus starts with a brother handshake.

Joe's playing with the free lighter/ torchlight while Vince holds him lovingly.

My X colleague Tania drops by.

Vince and Michelle. They do make a great couple.

A pic of the 2 x colleagues.

Joe damn gangster in this pic.

Jules and I. He's the reason why I have all these great friends to hangout with.

Mabuk liau. So need to play 5, 10 to finish off the beer.
