Christmas Eve Partay

Christmas eve. I was not feeling too good. Dunno why but I was kinda feverish. Jules and the gang planned to go to Zouk to party. No one really wanted to drive so I offered to pick everyone up. I had dinner with me family at 8 ish. After dinner, I took a quick hot shower. I thought of popping 2 biji Panadol but there was none at home. So I decided to soldier on and pick everyone up. Started of with Wendy. She was staying over at her friend's house somewhere in Manjalara. Then proceeded to pick Jules and Vince up at Julian's crib. The drove to Debra's place to pick the woman up. And as usual... she made me wait. By the time everyone was in the car, it was about 10.50pm.

We got to Zouk at about 11. We had not decided if we wanted to hangout in Phuture or Velvet. So we checked out Phuture first. It was already bloody packed. Even the bar upstairs was full with people. So we made our way to Velvet. Velvet was the absolute opposite. The was no one at the bar at all. Pretty dead. But we knew that the place would fill up later in the night. We were also more comfortable there. After all... we are an old bunch of clubbers. We've always felt pretty old when in Phuture (the crowd is like in their early twenties). But they do play pretty good R&B music there.

We get our bottle of Black Label. I must say, the night started off great thanks to Wendy. She was pretty gungho and she was getting us guys and the other 2 gals to drink. We finished the bottle within an hour. So we order one more. Throughout the night, more and more of our friends came. Nick, Alicia and Fariq came. Victor and Ashely arrived a bit later in the night. With more people, more alcohol was ordered. We ordered another bottle of Black. Victor then ordered a further 2 jugs of beer and some shots as well. I would say it was a nice night. No one was really drunk (except Vince & Ashley... hehehe). Vince tends to be a very friendly person when he gets drunk. He was talking to the people at the next table. I was pretty high as well. I was showing my 'magic tricks' to people on my table and these 2 chick on the other table.

We drink till 3 and the light are turned on. As my car is already full, Victor & Ashley take a cab to the dim sum place in Jalan Ipoh. Wendy drives my car, as if there is a road block, they tend to be more lenient when it's a gal behind the wheel. We drop Debra home and make our way to the dim sum shop. Chit chat and makan-makan, we finish eating at 4 plus. We then send Vic and Ash home. We drive to Julian's house. Vince leh... gone case. He's been puking since we left Velvet. I think we must have stopped the car 2-3 times so that he can open the door and stick his head out to puke. So expectedly... the dude can't drive. Jules says that he knows where Vince stays. So he suggest that he drives Vince's car home while I tail him. I can then pick him up and drop his ass home. Brilliant Jules ends up getting us all lost in Vince's housing estate. Alas... we find Vince's house. He gets out of my car, and tells Jules he wants to park his car properly. So Jules, Wendy and I leave and drive back to Julian's house. By the time I drop Jules and Wendy home, it was already 5.50am. I reach home at 6, take a bath, and go to bed by 6.30am. Fucks... I'm tired.

And you know what the joke was.... Vince didn't even to into his house. He actually slept in his car till 10 in the morning, then walked into his house. Har har... What a night... what a night....

Gone within an hour.

Von arrives right after we enter Velvet.

Night started off great. Smiles from Jules early in the night.

I sure smile lar. Take pic with Wendy wor.

The 3 gals that drank from start to end.

Vince looks like he's fantasizing about sumtin.

A group pic. I'm not in it. I'm the cameraman mar...

Vince wants me do drink up. I give him the thumbs up.

We ask the gals for some kissing action. They oblige. But just air kisses only.

As we all agree... those are huge ass earrings Wendy has on. Bit it looks good on her... everything does.

Victor towers over Fariq. The guy is taller than me wei.

Everyone still pretty sober at this stage.

The happy drunkards.

We ask Debs to do a lovey dovey pic.

I take a pic with Molly. Now... I actually feel pretty bad. I have always thought Molly is really attactive. She's quite petite. So I was telling Vince about how I think Molly is cute... but like obviously not that ngam fer me cause I'm very tall and she's like mebbe around 5 feet tall. Debs, Von and her were standing beside me. I thought the loud music would have muffled my statement about Molly's height. But obviously it did not. The gals stared at me and said, 'We can hear you lar you know'. Ma bad gals... Hehe.

I think Jules starting to lose his eyes a bit at this stage.

The husband and wife having a good time.

I take a picture with Victor's wifey, Ashley. And Jules manages to sneak one in.

Okay... one without Jules. I showed her my 'magic tricks' and she told me the gals back in Korea would be impressed. She has no idea why I'm still single. Maybe I should move to Korea....

Obviously still sober lar the gals.

This pic more complete. The whole bunch of Christmas Eve party gals.

And this is one of the pic of the guys. Eh... where is Vince?

Aahhh... there he is. Do you think he's wasted?

We ask Debs to do an angry face. My my... she looks pissed. I wouldn't want to mess with her. Would you?

And we ask Debs to do her patented move....'The Debs'.

Von attempting to do 'The Debs'.

Alicia trying as well. Debs gives her the thumbs up.

Fariq falls victim to 'The Involuntary Debs'.

It's a move that's sweeping the nation.

Yeah... we got him wasted. Mission accomplished.

Vince sleeps it off. This is the exact same posture applied at the table of the dim sum shop.

Drinking with the Bates Gang

Wednesday night. I was sorta itching to drink and get drunk. Although I have been to numerous weddings this month, I did not get drunk in any of them. Ah Siang's wedding, I had not slept for 36 hours. So I was a walking zombie and was not in the mood to drink. Ramesh's wedding, I was running around and helping out with the wedding proceedings. So didn't eat much, didn't drink much. Then there was the wedding in Muar. As I drove there and obviously needed to drive back, it was controlled drinking.

So... when Cindy called and asked me to go drinking on Wednesday, I was definitely up for it. She told me that she, Nadine, and Miss Australia is coming out to drink. Now... when Cindy tells me there is this Miss this Miss that leh, I tend not to trust her. The last time she told me there was a Miss Canada in her office, I went up... eager to see how hot this chick must be. In my mind was this tall white chick with long blonde hair with model like features. When I saw "Miss Canada", I knew I had been tricked. It's actually a short, plum Indian gal who was staying in Canada before joining Bates. Damn you Cindy... damn you.

So I asked Cindy if Miss Australia is pretty or not. Cindy tells me that Miss Australia has big nen nen. So I obviously instantly agree to come out. Turns out that Miss Australia is Amirah (hope I spelt her name correctly), this Malay chick who joined bates a few months back. Aiyah... get me excited for nothing. Anyways... Cindy lied to me again. I met Amirah a few times and I don't remember her having big nen nens.

Anyways... I meet Cindy and Nadine at 9 plus. We order a bottle of Black. I started slow as I did not have dinner. I ordered a plate of sausage. I think there must be only one sausage on my plate. It was a simple dish. Sausage with some onions. The bloody plate cost me 10 bucks. What a rip off. But I guess that's the way it is lar. I should have ordered fried rice or sumtin. Well... Fred and Adrian joins us a bit later in the night. They open a bottle of Black as well. The 5 of us were pretty close to finishing the 2nd bottle. But since they needed to work the next day, we decided to call it a night.

These 2 damn lian wei.

Fred gives them the finger.

One drink will never be enough for Cindy.

Still sober Adrian and I.

The drunkard colleagues. I think only Bates has so many drinkers in 1 company.

One Day in Penang.

Yesterday was Monday. As I sat down and had lunch with Rashdan and Rose, we decided to go to Penang the next day. The guys wanted to spend a night in Penang. But I insisted on coming back on the very same day as I have some work to do. We initially agreed on leaving for Penang at 5.30 in the morning. But after watching a movie at 10pm which ended at 12 ish, I changed my mind and wanted to leave at 7am instead.

6.30 and I wake up feeling really tired. Not enough of sleep. I slept at 2 and 4 hours is barely what I call sleep. I am still able to drag my ass out of bed and take a nice shower. I arrive at their place sharp at 7am. We then make our way to our 1st destination.... Bidor. We had some Duck Thigh Noodles, which I have not had for ages. After breakfast in Bidor, we drove to Ipoh for breakfast. Hehehe. The food target this time, Chee Cheong Funn... Ipoh style. I drove them to Canning Garden but the restaurant was closed. So I took them to Ipoh old town instead. We had some White Coffee, Toast with Kaya and Chee Cheong Funn.

Before arriving at Penang, I called my friend, the ever gorgeous Ling Ling. She graciously drives me and my friends to a few makan places (we are absolutely lost in Penang). We stuff ourselves with food throughout the trip. We do leave Penang at 6pm by ferry. But we don't end our eating spree there. We drive to Bukit Tambun for dinner... a nice sumptuous seafood dinner.

We eventually get back to PJ at 11 plus. By the time I drop them back to their place and drive home, it's already midnight and I'm absolutely knackered.

The sky is still dark when I make my way to Danny's crib.

We spent 150 on petrol and 90 bucks on toll. This made the Penang meals pretty expensive.

Duck Thigh in herbal soup.

With some dry noodles.

2nd breakfast in Ipoh.

Penang Char Kuey Teow. Good stuff...

Asam Laksa with loads of cili padi. Bugger... cili padi price drop meh? Put so much. I think it's so spicy... if you drop a bit of soup on the table, it'll burn right through and leave a hole in the table.

The famous Chendol. If you ask them to bring it into the shop, they'll charge extra 50 cents. I think this is to ensure the shop still makes money. Cause the Chendol store isn't theirs. Oh yeah... if you are not a patron of the restaurant and you just want to use the toilet, please pay 20 cents. Wash hands... 10 cents. Har har har. I shit you not.

Fried Oysters. I prefer the dry one with loads of batter.

They're on leave. I don't work. So need to find activities to help pass time.

Yup... that's the Penang Bridge.

His 1st time on a Ferry in Penang.

Fish, Lala, Crabs, Mantis Prawn, Veggies, Noodles & Chinese Tea. All for only 90 bucks. Sweet deal.

Ah Siang's Wedding

I was in Johor for the weekend. The reason I am in Johor? My kindy buddy, Alex is getting married. I have known the guy since we were 6. 25 years of friendship. It was kinda wierd seeing him get married. We used to cycle to each other's house and cycle around our taman when we were kids.

Takeaway and I drove down to Johor on Saturday morning. We left a bit late because I was drinking with Reno and his wifey Yen the previous night. Initially I thought of staying at home so that I won't have any trouble trying to get up in the morning for the Johor trip. Reno said to me,"If you dare.. don't come out lor". My Northern buddy wor... where I dare say no. So I made my way to KL to pick them up. Took them to Phuture and we ended up drink a bottle of Black and 2 trays of those shooters. I tried to pay for the bottle but Yen pushed her way in front of me and paid for it instead. Thanks for the drinks guys...

Anyways... Thanks to the heavy drinking, I woke up late. This resulted in Takeaway picking me up late as well. A 1 hour jam in MRR2 did not help at all. And when we reached the highway, another jam at Sg. Besi made it worse. We had to skip the initially planned lunch with Fei Chai. I think we got to Johor at 2.30pm. Dropped the car for a wash and polish and Fei Chai picked us up from Jusco to take us out for our lunch. Grabbed some porridge for lunch and then went back to get the car. We then took the car to the bridal shop so that they can tie all the wedding deco stuffs.

Once we kau timmed the bridal car, we picked Muthu up and went to Fei Chai's house. We then went for dinner and then proceeded to our drinking session. After drinking, we gambled a bit at fei chai's house till 4 ish in the morning. We then drove back to the hotel and took a shower. At 6.30am, we met the groom at the lobby to do the kick door session. After some coffee, we recovered slightly and did our heng tai duties. Once we were done at about 11 ish, we started getting tired once again. We had a chance to catch some sleep before dinner but 'kwai lann' us decided to go play snooker instead. After snooker, we all took our turns to mandi and then drove to the hotel for the dinner. It is proven that tired ppl can't drink. Staying awake for 36 hours took it's toll on us. We were practically walking zombies.

When I got back to Fei Chai's place at midnight, I tried to stay up and watch the Liverpool vs Arsenal match. But once I sat down, I fell asleep. I ended up sleeping on the sofa with my shirt and jeans on. I wake up at 10 in the morning the next day. We had lunch with fei chai, went back to the hotel to collect my shoes (tired us didn't even notice I left my shoes in the hotel when we checked out the previous day). After getting my shoes, Takeaway and I cabuts back to KL.

We drive straight to Ramesh's place to settle some stuffs (his wedding is this coming Saturday). After that, we have dinner, run some errands, and go drinking. Yeah.. I know. This is insane. We're fucking tired and we're out drinking again. We meet up with Ah Chuan and Ah Kia for some Guinness Draft. We drink till midnight and then cabuts home. How I've missed my bed. It's good to be home...

Reno and I. His wifey is not familiar with my camera phone... resulting in this dark pic.

My northern buddies. They always take good care of me when I'm up north.

This must be a Johor system. The place is packed, so it's kinda difficult to remember the customer's faces. So you order your food and they'll pass u a stand thingy. Each shop has their own. So they'll serve you and grab their stand.

Nice BBQ chicken.

A mix platter with my favourite century egg.

Chicken satay. The must have hawker food.

Takeaway's car gettin tied. I choosed the colour. Nice leh...

The staff in action.

The end result. I'm gifted when it comes to colour selection.
